Review
Today is part 6 of this series.
We are talking about what it looks like to live by faith .
Our challenges in the future will be won by living by faith.
The greatest commodity we carry into our future is the ability to act in faith in all of life’s circumstances.
Living by faith is for people who have decided to sell out for Jesus, to give Him their all.
If you say you are a Christian, God is looking for a solid, firm commitment of your life to Him today.
***This is not for the person with one foot in God’s kingdom and the other foot in the world and it’s way of living with sex, parties, drugs, with a life filled with the focus on yourself and what you want and like, with very little thought to what Jesus
wants out of your life…***
The first step into living by faith is giving your life to Jesus
I mean you give up your right to live your life outside of God’s way for you in His word.
Matthew 10:35-39 (TPT)
Because of Me, a son will turn against his father, a daughter her mother and against her mother-in-law. 36 Within your own families you will find enemies. 37 “Whoever loves father or mother or son or daughter more than Me is not fit to be My disciple. 38 And whoever comes to Me must follow in My steps and be willing to share My cross and experience it as his own, or he cannot be considered to be My disciple. 39 All who seek to live apart from Me will lose it all. But those who let go of their lives for My sake and surrender it all to Me will discover true life!
Again, we overcome the problems that life in a fallen world brings by living by faith!
1 John 5:4 (NKJV)
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith
1 John 5:4 (Weymouth New Testament)
For every child of God overcomes the world; and the victorious principle which has overcome the world is our faith.
1 Timothy 6:12 (NKJV)
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (Contemporary English Version)
But we live by faith, not by what we see.
We have looked at the first 4 points of 8 things you need to know about faith.
1. Faith is a gift given to you by Jesus.
2. Faith can be increased by meditation and practice of the word.
3. Faith takes the place of what cannot be seen or felt until it actually appears.
4. Faith is never future. Faith is always in the present tense.
Today – 8 things you need to know about faith.
5. Faith cannot be separated from Words.
Your faith is directly connected to your words.
2 Corinthians 4:13 – NKJV
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.
Romans 10:6-8 (NKJV)
But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
Matthew 12:34-37- NLT
You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”
Mark 11:23 – NKJV
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
If you are saying nothing, you are believing nothing.
Words are a creative power!
Words from God create all we see!
Hebrews 11:3 – NKJV
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Genesis 1:3 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Genesis 1:6 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”
Genesis 1:9 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.
Genesis 1:14-15 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.
Genesis 1:20-21 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:24 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.
Genesis 1:26 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Words contained God’s faith that brought what we see into existence. It wasn’t a Big Bang – it was Faith Words.
We are created in God’s image with a similar power to create with our words!
Isaiah 57:19 (NKJV)
I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,”
Says the LORD,“And I will heal him.”
There is no faith apart from the words you speak.
You cannot say one thing and believe something else.
Your words are YOUR faith speaking.
If you want to know what you are believing about any area of life, ask yourself, what am I saying about that area?
Do you really want God to create what you are saying on a regular basis?
Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
What you have in life is created by your words.
I can’t…
I don’t know how.
That’s killing me…
Nothing ever works out right…
I can never get ahead…
I’m sick….
I’m broke…we don’t have the money…
I don’t know what I’m going to do.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me…
The Lord is showing me how…
That is working out for us… for our good and His glory…
I am blessed and have more than I need…
I believe that I receive my healing…
We have all the money that we need to do everything we need to do…
There is a confession UNTO faith and the confession OF Faith.
You can school yourself into believing. So and so has said that so much they really believe it.
The confession UNTO faith is where you speak God’s Word about your life even if it doesn’t
seem real to you.
There is the confession OF faith that is a confession based on the conviction of the heart!
The Confession of Faith “CALLS”:
Romans 4:17 (NKJV)
As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
Place within your words what you want in your life:
Your Thermostat.
Your Gas pedal.
Your Cruise control.
Your Tongue – “SAY” it where you want it!
Look back to what you’ve been saying, and you’ll know what you are believing.
What we believe we talk about.
You can’t say one thing and believe something else…
What are you saying deep inside with your self-talk?
Me – I’m not worth having much. I had a poverty, just making it, mentality.
Health – Grandpa had it, dad had it, I will get it.
Saying nothing means there is no faith.
Example – Mom’s land – 2017 -Realtor – It probably won’t sell this year…
2004 – New car – sold the old one through a broker.
Action Points:
1. Do you speak as though your words create things you have in life.
2. Would you want what you say about your life to happen?
3. Are you treating your mouth like a thermostat?
4. Are you speaking what you have or what you want?
