Healing Belongs to You in Christ! (part 3):

Seven reasons we can know that healing is always God’s will

5.2.2021

Review

God wants us to walk in divine health. It is made available by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary.

The same faith you have to receive forgiveness is the same faith that will heal you from sickness and disease.

This past year, with so much talk about sickness everywhere, we need to counteract that with the truth of God’s word about our health!

1. Deal with fear.

Faith cancels fear. OR fear cancels faith.

2. To what information sources do you give the most attention?

Hearing, thinking, believing, speaking, acting.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Change the atmosphere of your life.

3. Take responsibility for your health in Christ.

Healing will not come without your participation!

Kenneth Hagin:

The blessing of God don’t fall like ripe cherries off of a tree.

4. Healing is the will of God for you!

Faith begins where the will of God is known.

As a child I heard if it be your will prayed over and over again when praying for a sick person.

That puts all the responsibility on God.

Faith does not rest in God’s ability alone. Faith begins where the will of God is known.

He may be able, but does He want to heal me?

Matthew 8:1-3 NKJV

When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean. Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed. Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

A multi millionaire could come in and announce, I can give everyone here $100,000.00. Would you be certain he would give it just because he said he could?

But if he said, before this meeting is over, each one of you will receive $100,000 from me. You would then have reason to believe that you would leave with $100,000.00 because he said he not just could, but would!

If he had only mentioned that he had the money and could give everyone $100,000.00, your confidence level would not have risen.

But when he said I will give you $100,000.00 before you leave. His willingness would have given you a belief that you would receive the money.

Would you have confidence that you would receive?

How can we know God’s will? By feelings? Circumstances? Others opinions?

If God only had the ability to heal, is that enough knowledge for you to know you will be healed. No it isn’t!

We must know that not only can God heal me, but He is willing to heal you.

We know God’s will through His word!

Colossians 1:9-11 (NKJV)

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy.

Since believers should receive healing primarily by faith, we’re going to go into detail as to how we know it is the will of God for us to be healed, and then into what steps we can take to receive healing personally from the Lord.

Seven reasons we can know that healing is always God’s will.

1. Because of perfect creation

Genesis 1.

“It was good” repeated over and over…

We know it’s the will of God to heal us by looking back to the Genesis account of creation and seeing that there was no sickness before the fall of man. Everything was good. There was no sin, no sickness, no decay, no death, no defeat, no doubt, no dread. All was absolutely perfect. Sickness did not appear in creation until after the fall of man. So you could say that sin (the fall) gave birth to sickness. Since sickness came with the fall, and God’s antidote for sin is the blood of Jesus, then you could equally say that God’s antidote for sickness is the blood of Jesus!

2. God wants His will on earth to parallel what is in heaven.

Jesus prayed:

Matthew 6:10 (NKJV)

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

So, is there sickness in heaven? Of course not! If there is none there, God does not will it here on earth either!

Deuteronomy 11:21 (NKJV)

That your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the Lord swore to your Fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.

3. God never changes in His attitude towards us.

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV)

For I am the Lord, I do not change.

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

James 1:17 (NKJV)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

James 1:17 (God’s Word)

Every good present and every perfect gift comes from above, from the Father who made the sun, moon, and stars. The Father doesn’t change like the shifting shadows produced by the sun and the moon.

Romans 2:11 (AMPL)

For God shows no partiality [undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another].

Romans 2:11 (JB Phillips)

For there is no preferential treatment with God.

The fall of man did not change God’s love for us. In fact:

John 3:16 (NKJV)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

4. In God’s mind, the sacrifice that saves you is the same sacrifice that can heal you.

Psalm 103:1-3 (NKJV)

Bless the Lord O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His Holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.

Matthew 9:1-7 (NLT)

Jesus climbed into a boat and went back across the lake to his own town. 2 Some people brought to him a paralyzed man on a mat. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “Be encouraged, my child! Your sins are forgiven.” 3 But some of the teachers of religious law said to themselves, “That’s blasphemy! Does he think he’s God?” 4 Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you have such evil thoughts in your hearts? 5 Is it easier to say ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up and walk’? 6 So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” 7 And the man jumped up and went home!

To God, the same faith that forgives sin heals disease!

Sin and sickness came at the same time, and Jesus’ sacrifice cures both!

5. In the Bible, sickness is directly attributed to Satan.

Job 2:1-7 (NLT)

One day the members of the heavenly court came again to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan, came with them. 2 “Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan. Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.” 3 Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil. And he has maintained his integrity, even though you urged me to harm him without cause.” 4 Satan replied to the Lord, “Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life.(5) But reach out and take away his health, and he will surely curse you to your face!” 6 “All right, do with him as you please,” the Lord said to Satan. “But spare his life.” 7 So Satan left the Lord’s presence, and he struck Job with terrible boils from head to foot.

Acts 10:38 (NLT)

And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

Luke 13:10-17 (NLT)

One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, 11 he saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!” 13 Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God! 14 But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. “There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd. “Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.” 15 But the Lord replied, “You hypocrites! Each of you works on the Sabbath day! Don’t you untie your ox or your donkey from its stall on the Sabbath and lead it out for water? 16 This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years. Isn’t it right that she be released, even on the Sabbath?” 17 This shamed his enemies, but all the people rejoiced at the wonderful things he did.

1 Corinthians 5:1-5 NLT

I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you— something that even pagans don’t do. I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother. 2 You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. And you should remove this man from your fellowship. 3 Even though I am not with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. And as though I were there, I have already passed judgment on this man 4 in the name of the Lord Jesus. You must call a meeting of the church. I will be present with you in spirit, and so will the power of our Lord Jesus. 5 Then you must throw this man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved on the day the Lord returns.

1 Corinthians 5:5 (NKJV)

To deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

6. No sickness on earth when Satan is bound during the Millennium

During this time, the thief is no longer roaming about seeking to kill, steal, and destroy. (John 10:10).

Revelation 20:1-3 (NLT)

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon—that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan—and bound him in chains for a thousand years. 3 The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. Afterward he must be released for a little while.

Isaiah 33:24 (NKJV)

And the inhabitant will not say, “I am sick”; The people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity.

Isaiah 11:9 (NKJV)

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea.

7. At times Jesus dealt with sickness the way He dealt with demons.

Luke 4:33-36 (NLT)

Once when he was in the synagogue, a man possessed by a demon—an evil spirit—began shouting at Jesus, 35 “Go away! Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” Jesus cut him short. “Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered. At that, the demon threw the man to the floor as the crowd watched; then it came out of him without hurting him further. 36 Amazed, the people exclaimed, “What authority and power this man’s words possess! Even evil spirits obey him, and they flee at his command!”

Luke 4:38-39 (NLT)

After leaving the synagogue that day, Jesus went to Simon’s home, where he found Simon’s mother-in-law very sick with a high fever. “Please heal her,” everyone begged.

39 Standing at her bedside, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and prepared a meal for them.

Mark 9:17-27 (NLT)

One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, “Teacher, I brought my son so you could heal him. He is possessed by an evil spirit that won’t let him talk. 18 And whenever this spirit seizes him, it throws him violently to the ground. Then he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast out the evil spirit, but they couldn’t do it.” 19 Jesus said to them, “You faithless people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” 20 So they brought the boy. But when the evil spirit saw Jesus, it threw the child into a violent convulsion, and he fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth. 21 “How long has this been happening?” Jesus asked the boy’s father. He replied, “Since he was a little boy. 22 The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” 23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” 24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” 25 When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. “Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said, “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!” 26 Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said, “He’s dead.”27 But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.

1 John 3:8 (NLT)

But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

Resist sickness the way you resist Satan!

Seven reasons we can know that healing is always God’s will:

  1. Because of perfect creation

  3. God never changes in His attitude towards us.
  4. In God’s mind, the sacrifice that saves you is the same sacrifice that can heal you.
  5. In the Bible, sickness is directly attributed to Satan.
  6. No sickness on earth when Satan is bound during the Millennium
  7. At times Jesus dealt with sickness the way He dealt with demons.

Action Points:

1. Do you believe that God is both able and willing to heal you?

2. Do you resist sickness the same way that you resist Satan?
