Faith Till The End (part 7)

Your Words Rule Your Life

8.14.2022

Review

Today is part 7 of this series.

We are talking about what it looks like to live by faith.

Our challenges in the future will be won by living by faith.

The greatest commodity we carry into our future is the ability to act in faith in all of life’s circumstances.

Living by faith is for people who have decided to sell out for Jesus, to give Him their all.

We have looked at the first 4 points of 8 things you need to know about faith.

1. Faith is a gift given to you by Jesus.

2. Faith can be increased by meditation and practice of the Word.

3. Faith takes the place of what cannot be seen or felt until it actually appears.

4. Faith is never future. Faith is always in the present tense.

Last week:

5. Faith cannot be separated from words.

I want to continue on this topic today.

Your faith is directly connected to your words.

2 Corinthians 4:13 (NKJV)

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.

What I say is my faith speaking!

Romans 10:6-8 (NKJV)

But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

Matthew 12:34-37 (NLT)

You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.

Mark 11:23 (NKJV)

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

If you are saying nothing, you are believing nothing.

Words are a creative power!

The Most Powerful Force in Your Life in Under Your Nose and Above Your Chin!

James 3:2-6 (NKJV)

For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

The tongue (our words) guide our lives the way a rudder guides a ship and the way a bit in the mouth guides a horse.

Then notice again verse 6:

James 3:6 (NKJV)

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

The word course is the word trachos – the word for a wheel. A wheel is round. This is a reference to the round of human activity.

What it is saying here is that the whole “round” of human activity is tied to words!

The word nature is verse 6 is the word genesis which means birth, and it refers to the constant change of life, the sphere of this earthly life, and is speaking of all that is contained in life.

So when you put it together, the phrase Course of Nature refers to the whole realm of

a person’s life from the cradle to the grave!

It is saying that ALL of life is controlled by our WORDS. We never live beyond our words.

We rise or fall to the level of our words – or to the level of our confession.

What you do with your words determines what you do with your life!

Begin today to value your words.

Proverbs 15:4 (NKJV)

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Satan and the dark kingdom want to cut down your tree of life! They want you to use your own words against you!

That is the reason the world as a whole is programmed to speak death!

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,

And those who love it will eat its fruit.

So I must ask myself throughout my day: Am I speaking life or death?

What kinds of words rule your conversation with your spouse? Your children? Your Job? Your money?

Are my words activating God’s power, or, are my words being used by the dark kingdom as an open door to hinder my life?

Ephesians 2:1-2 (NKJV)

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.

Satan rules people who do not know Jesus. They are called here the sons of disobedience. They cannot affect his rule around them. Satan controls and manipulates them at will.

They speak his language of doubt, fear, and unbelief.

We have been delivered out from under his control.

Colossians 1:13 (NKJV)

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

Colossians 1:13 (NLT)

For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son,

If he knows he can’t control you as a believer, Satan and his kingdom will seek to tap into your tree of life, your words, in order to hinder God’s work in your life.

When we yield our speech to doubt, fear, and unbelief, we empower Satan’s kingdom to steal, kill, and destroy in our lives.

When I allow strife in my words, I allow the dark kingdom an entrance into whatever area of life I am dealing with.

Revelation 12:11 (NKJV)

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Confessing God’s Word is saying exactly what God says about you!

Hebrews 3:1 (NKJV)

Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,

Confession – Greek word – Homologeo:

Homo = same.

Logos – Word –

Homologeo – To mouth or speak the same thing

He is the high priest of our confession – He agrees with us when we agree with the Word – and makes sure what we say comes to pass.

Does what you say about yourself and your life agree with what God says about you in His Word?

Proverbs on Words:

Proverbs 6:2 (NKJV)

You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.

Proverbs 8:7-8 (NKJV)

For my mouth will speak truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.

Proverbs 8:13 (NKJV)

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way

and the perverse mouth I hate.

Proverbs 10:11 (NKJV)

The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 12:13 (NKJV)

The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous will come through trouble.

Proverbs 12:14 (NKJV)

A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him.

Prov 12:18 (NKJV)

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.

Proverbs 12:25 (NKJV)

Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.

Proverbs 13:2 NKJV

A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth, but the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence.

Proverbs 13:3 (NKJV)

He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

Proverbs 15:23 (NKJV)

A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

Proverbs 16:23-24 (NKJV)

The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips. 24 Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones

Proverbs 17:20 (NKJV)

He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, and he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.

Proverbs 17:27-28 (NKJV)

He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. 28 Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; when he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.

Proverbs 18:7 (NKJV)

A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

Proverbs 18:20-21 (NKJV)

A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;

from the produce of his lips he shall be filled.

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 21:23 (NKJV)

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.

Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 (NKJV)

Do not be rash with your mouth, and let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few. 3 For a dream comes through much activity, and a fool’s voice is known by his many words.

Action Points:

1. Do you talk as though you want what you say to come to pass?

2. What course of life are your words placing you on?

3. List 5 things that you believe are God’s will for you. Make them a part of your daily

speech.

CONFESSIONS

I will not worry about anything, but I will pray about everything and thank God He hears me. I cast all care on the Lord because He cares for me, and I let the peace of God which passes all understanding keep my heart and mind in Christ Jesus – 1 Peter 5:7; Philippians 4:6,7.
