I have spent 6 lessons laying a foundation that healing is God’s will for you.

Today, we will continue looking at how we can receive healing from God by faith in Jesus’ sacrifice.

There will never be a time you don’t need faith for healing either for yourself…

If you wait to get faith when you need it, you will be at a disadvantage.

God wants us to walk in Divine health. It is made available by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary.

The same faith you have to receive forgiveness is the same faith that will heal you from sickness and disease.

This past year, with so much talk about sickness everywhere, we need to counteract that with the truth of God’s word about our health!

7. Three Things Necessary to Receive by Faith

1. Believe that you have the healing before it physically manifests.

Mark 11:24

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

First of all, locate where you are with your faith.

What can you believe?

You will not be able to lift a 300 lb problem with 25 pound faith.

What can you believe and hold steady with?

Start small. A headache, a cold, the flu, a rash, a sprain, something not life threatening.

Can you believe that with doctors and medical help, God will see you through to health.

Can you believe that with surgery the problem will be remedied?

Can you believe that without surgery the problem will be healed?

Can you believe that with your faith in God without medical intervention, you will be healed?

Start where you can believe and hold steady.

A personal story:

I hurt my back lifting some gym equipment (treadmill) in my home on Friday, December 9, 2016.

I lifted it improperly and hurt my back really, really badly. The pain kept increasing.

This went on from December 2016 until the end of March 2017.

Eventually, I hurt so badly that I could not concentrate. I took between 2400 and 3600 mg of ibuprofen just to be able to focus.

Sitting, standing, laying, all produced nonstop, terrible pain.

The ibuprofen only treated pain, not the problem.

In 2013, I broke my left arm on the Greenway….and to get the muscles working again after the bone healed I went to a physical therapist.

So, I made an appointment and went to a physical therapist for the back pain, to no avail.

Finally, The physical therapist sent me to a surgeon who took an MRI of my back.

The surgeon gave me 3 options. Physical therapist, Chiropractic help, or surgery.

The MRI showed that my L4 and L5 disks in my lower back had slipped out of place, and were squeezing my sciatic nerve on my left side, and my left side and down my leg went numb.

I prayed and asked for wisdom.

At the end of March, I went to see my daughter in Alabama…the Sunday before leaving, a person handed me a slip of paper with a name on it. And while in the Birmingham airport a person texted me that had been at church the Sunday before and saw that I was in pain.

These two things happened independent of each other. Two people that did not know each other saw me struggling on a Sunday morning, and gave me the name of a Chiropractor- the same name!

I went – He said – there is a 70 % chance I can help you. A 30% chance that you will need surgery.

I said that I would believe for the 70%. No surgery.

Then, I did what Mark 11:24 says…

And, I stood my ground in faith for healing…

Believing that you receive is the key to receiving anything from the Lord.

In 3 weeks, I had no pain!

Could I have stood in faith w/o Chiropractic care? Yes, but could I endure the pain that long? Faith is not always instant.

I’ve gone for days, weeks, and months believing for healing for various things, and received!

Find out what you can believe and stand your ground and believe you receive.

Faith is the confidence (Greek word for title deed) that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.

Faith takes the place of what we don’t physically have until it shows up.

It’s a gap stander. It takes the place of the tangible thing – healing – until it is manifested

Romans 4:17 – Amplified

As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.

2. Talk like you believe you receive the healing before any physical manifestation appears.

Faith is released with words!

No words = No faith or neutral faith

Faith is carried from our hearts to the Lord by WORDS.

Faith Speaks. If you believe you receive healing, talk like you believe you receive healing!

Mark 11:23

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Say or says 3 times. Believe -1 time…

Hebrews 11:3

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

2 Corinthians 4:13 – Amplified

Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak,

What you SAY is your FAITH speaking.

You can THINK something, but don’t put it into words, and it will have no life!

The media is using brainwashing techniques right now! They KEEP SAYING certain things that ARE NOT TRUE and people believe them.

Turn THAT around. Say what God says about your healing EVEN IF AT FIRST you don’t believe it! You will eventually begin to believe it.

Why listen to something that is not true until you are full of fear?

Listen to what God says, then voice it! Say it. Say it. Say it!

You will eventually believe it!

And, when you believe God’s word in your heart and say it with your mouth, it will manifest with your life.

Example – The sale of my vehicle in 2004.

3. Find a way to ACT like you believe you receive your healing.

Faith must have corresponding actions or it’s dead faith!

James 2:17 – Amplified

So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

So, believe you receive healing BY FAITH. That means you believe you are healed before it looks like it, feels like it, etc.

Think like you believe it.

Talk like you believe it.

Then in every way you can, act like you believe it!

If you hesitate to act until you SEE the manifestation, you LOSE.

James 2:17-20 (New Century Version)

In the same way, faith by itself–that does nothing–is dead. 18 Someone might say, “You have faith, but I have deeds.” Show me your faith without doing anything, and I will show you my faith by what I do. 19 You believe there is one God. Good! But the demons believe that, too, and they tremble with fear.

20 You foolish person! Must you be shown that faith that does nothing is worth nothing?

James 2:26 (NCV)

Just as a person’s body that does not have a spirit is dead, so faith that does nothing is dead!

James mentions Abraham offering his son as a sacrifice at God’s command. He SO believed that God promised him a lot of children and grandchildren, that he followed through with actions! And God stopped him at the last minute.

EX – my mom – 1978 – Bible school – my stomach hurt SO BADLY. I could not eat. Threw up a school. Got home. Went to my room. My mom was making collards. Ham. cornbread. Black eye pease. TO ME it smelled awful!!

My mom came back to my room and said – I believe the Lord spoke to me and told me to tell you, that if you will come and eat a plate of collards, ham, peas, and cornbread, you will be healed.

I DID it, and I was healed!!!!

Faith MUST have corresponding actions to work.

If you believe you receive your healing, as must as you can, act like you are healed!

NOW, if you are under a doctor’s care, or are taking meds, I am NOT saying stop taking them. I am saying keep taking them, and in the middle of your regular routine, start believing you receive, say what you believe, and worship God and thank HIM over and over. AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, act like you believe.

Over 30 years ago, when I pastored in SC, a person came to me and told me how they were healed of a condition. The person said they started by meditating on healing scriptures and taking the medications, and continuing under the doctor’s care.

Then, after reading the word over and over on healing and meditating on it, then one day the person took ¾ of the pill instead of the whole pill. Did it for a few weeks. Went to doc. texts were ok. then ½ over a period of weeks; then ¼ over a period of week, all the while going to the doctor. Finally, after cutting back and cutting back, all while under the docs care, stopped then 1/4 , and the test came back normal, then the person told the doctor – he was very surprised.

1. Believe that you have the healing before it physically manifests.

2. Talk like you believe you receive the healing before any physical manifestation appears.

3. Find a way to ACT like you believe you receive your healing.

Action Points:

1. Are you willing to be counterintuitive, and believe you have something before you see or feel it?

2. Are you willing to say what you believe you receive boldly?

3. Are you willing to act as though you believe you receive in every way you can?
