Healing Belongs to You in Christ! (part 2)

Watch what you hear!

Review

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NKJV)

Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses) And carried our sorrows (pains); Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. (5) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

God wants us to walk in Divine health. It is made available by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary.

Health and healing belong to us in Christ.

The same faith you have to receive forgiveness is the same faith that will heal you from sickness and disease.

1. Deal with fear.

Fear makes no decisions for me.

You cannot be exercising faith in God and be living in fear at the same time.

Faith cancels fear. Or, fear cancels faith.

Fear attracts Satan the way faith attracts God!

Proverbs 29:25 (NKJV)

The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.

Fear is a result of what you believe, and what you believe is a result of what you hear.

What are you listening to: faith or fear?

2. To what information sources do you give the most attention?

This alone will determine how you are dealing with the Covid issues today.

With so much sickness news attacking from all sides, it’s a necessity for us to keep our faith built up in God’s word concerning His will to keep our bodies well.

CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, Fox, NewsMax, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Snapchat, are not going to build up your faith in God to heal you and keep you well!

Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I would not personally attend a church that did not teach and preach faith and healing.

I know people that would not dare leave the church their family attended!

You have to change the atmosphere of your life if you want health and healing.

Jesus had to remove the unbelief from a room before He could minister healing.

Mark 5:35-42 (NLT)

While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.”

(36) But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” (37) Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn’t let anyone go with him except Peter, James, and John (the brother of James). (38) When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw much commotion and weeping and wailing. 39 He went inside and asked, “Why all this commotion and weeping? The child isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” (40) The crowd laughed at him. But he made them all leave, and he took the girl’s father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying. (41) Holding her hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means “Little girl, get up!” (42) And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed.

Acts 9:36-42 (NLT)

There was a believer in Joppa named Tabitha (which in Greek is Dorcas). She was always doing kind things for others and helping the poor. (37) About this time she became ill and died. Her body was washed for burial and laid in an upstairs room. (38) But the believers had heard that Peter was nearby at Lydda, so they sent two men to beg him, “Please come as soon as possible!” (39) So Peter returned with them; and as soon as he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room. The room was filled with widows who were weeping and showing him the coats and other clothes Dorcas had made for them. (40) But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up! (41) He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then he called in the widows and all the believers, and he presented her to them alive. (42) The news spread through the whole town, and many believed in the Lord.

My grandmother Horton…

Some cities hindered Jesus because of their unbelief.

Mark 6:4-6 (NLT)

Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” (5) And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. (6) And he was amazed at their unbelief. Then Jesus went from village to village, teaching the people.

Faith automatically comes when knowledge comes.

Whatever you listen to is what you will have faith for – positive or negative.

Mark 4:24 (AMP)

And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure[of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.

There will NEVER be a time in your life that you do not need faith for healing, either for yourself, or for someone else.

This is the reason over the last 44 plus years I have regularly spent time building up my faith in God’s Word for healing…

TURN OFF THE NEGATIVE- TURN ON THE POSITIVE..

What are you choosing to believe? What am I choosing to believe?

What am I going to believe about me?

Am I going to believe what God says?

Or, am I going to believe what the media tells me?

What are you choosing right now? Fear or faith?

I hear people say, well, I am just using wisdom.

If you say that or have been saying that, it is a telltale sign that you need to spend time in God’s word building up your faith in Jesus to not only heal you but to keep you well.

What I do shows what I believe!

In the church world I was raised in, sickness could be a blessing in disguise.

God sometimes allows you to be sick to teach you something.

You give God a lot of glory by enduring sickness.

There may be someone you minister that you would never meet unless you were sick, etc.

The Word feeds our spirit just like food feeds our body.

Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)

But He answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

If you want your body to be healthy physically, you must:

  1. eat a proper diet,
  2. exercise regularly,
  3. rest at appropriate intervals.

If you want to be healthy spiritually, you must:

  1. eat a proper diet of the Word: not just read but meditate,
  2. exercise spiritually: put into practice what you read,
  3. rest spiritually by waiting on the Lord and casting your worries on Him. (Isaiah 40:31)

Proverbs 4:20-23 (NLT)

My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. 21 Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, 22 for they bring life to those who find them,

and healing to their whole body. 23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

What you think about is what you eventually believe.

Thinking, believing, and speaking all go hand in hand.

So here is the progression: hearing, thinking, believing, speaking, acting out.

For me, I deal with any wrong thought that comes to me. Wrong thinking is contraband. I deal with it immediately.

Colossians 3:16 (NKJV)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Philippians 4:8 (AMP)

Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

Psalms 19:14 (NKJV)

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.

1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:8 (GW)

Keep your mind clear, and be alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion as he looks for someone to devour.

If I have a mind filled with fear and doubt, then I have an intoxicated mind.

2 Corinthians 2:11 (NKJV)

Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

2 Corinthians 2:11 (NLT)

So that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes.

Devices; Schemes

3540. νόημα noēma; from 3539; a perception, i.e. purpose, or (by implication) the intellect, disposition, itself: — device, mind, thought. A mental perception, thought, an evil purpose; that which thinks, the mind, thoughts or purposes.

Schemings of the mind. Satan seeks to distort our thinking.

People used by the devil will seek to distort your mind with partial truth and partial lie.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (BBE)

For though we may be living in the flesh, we are not fighting after the way of the flesh 4 (For the arms with which we are fighting are not those of the flesh, but are strong before God for the destruction of high places); 5 Putting an end to reasonings, and every high thing which is lifted up against the knowledge of God, and causing every thought to come under the authority of Christ; 6 Being ready to give punishment to whatever is against his authority, after you have made it clear that you are completely under his control.

We have the same attacks that everyone else has, but we have a different solution!

Action Points:

  1. What do I spend the MOST time listening to each week?
  2. What can I change in my schedule to make sure I get God’s Word about healing into me every day?
  3. What thoughts and beliefs do I need to change to agree with God about the healing and health of my body?
