Healing Belongs To You In Christ! (part 7)

How to receive healing by faith

6.6.2021

Review

There will never be a time you don’t need faith for healing either for yourself…

If you wait to get faith when you need it, you will be at a disadvantage.

God wants us to walk in Divine health. It is made available by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary.

The same faith you have to receive forgiveness is the same faith that will heal you from sickness and disease.

This past year, with so much talk about sickness everywhere, we need to counteract that with the truth of God’s word about our health!

Part 1. Deal with fear.

Faith cancels fear. Or, fear cancels faith.

Part 2. To what information sources do you give the most attention?

Change the atmosphere of your life.

Part 3. 7 reasons you can know that healing is the will of God for you!

Faith begins where the will of God is known.

Faith does not rest in God’s ability alone. Faith begins where the will of God is known.

Part 4 – The Healing Covenant

Exodus 15:26 (NKJV)

And said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord who heals you.”

Part 5 – God’s seven covenant names.

Jehovah means the self-existent One Who reveals Himself. In His Jehovah names, God reveals His covenant care for His own.

Part 6 – Healing in the Atonement of Christ

Part 7 – Today – 7 points on how to receive healing by faith –

1. Anything received from God must be received by Faith!

Salvation is received by faith

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (9) not of works, lest anyone should boast.

The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is received by faith

Galatians 3:2

This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Answered prayer is received by faith!

James 1:6-7 (ESV)

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

God is so pleased when you decide to believe!

Hebrews 11:6 – NLT

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.

2. Faith makes the impossible possible.

Mark 9:16-27 (NLT)

What is all this arguing about?” Jesus asked. (17) One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, “Teacher, I brought my son so you could heal him. He is possessed by an evil spirit that won’t let him talk. (18) And whenever this spirit seizes him, it throws him violently to the ground. Then he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast out the evil spirit, but they couldn’t do it.” (19) Jesus said to them, “You faithless people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” (20) So they brought the boy. But when the evil spirit saw Jesus, it threw the child into a violent convulsion, and he fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth. (21) “How long has this been happening?” Jesus asked the boy’s father. He replied, “Since he was a little boy. (22) The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” (23) “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” (24) The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” (25) When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. “Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said. “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!” (26) Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said, “He’s dead.” (27) But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.

Matthew 19:24-26 (NLT)

I’ll say it again—it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!” (25) The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked. (26) Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

3. You can receive healing by faith.

Matthew 8:5-13 (NLT)

When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him, 6 “Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.” (7) Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.” (8) But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. (9) I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” (10) When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! (11) And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. (12) But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (13) Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour.

NKJV

(13) Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

Matthew 9:27-31 (NKJV)

When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” (28) And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” (29) Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” (30) And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.” (31) But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him in all that country.

Mark 5:25-34 (NLT) A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. (26) She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. (27) She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. (28) For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” (29) Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. (30) Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?” (31) His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’” (32) But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. (33) Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. (34) And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.

4. Determine what you can exercise faith for without doubting.

What can I believe?

There are different levels to faith…

• Great Faith

Matthew 8:10 (NKJV)

When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

Matthew 15:22-28 (NLT) A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.” (23) But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word. Then his disciples urged him to send her away. “Tell her to go away,” they said. “She is bothering us with all her begging.”

(24) Then Jesus said to the woman, “I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep—the people of Israel.” (25) But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, “Lord, help me!” (26) Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” (27) She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters’ table.” (28) “Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.

• Weak Faith

Romans 14:1 (NLT)

Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.

Romans 4:19 (NKJV)

And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

• Strong Faith

Romans 4:20 (NKJV)

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,

• Little Faith

Matthew 6:30 (NKJV)

Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Matthew 8:26 (NLT)

Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

• Growing Faith

2 Thessalonians 1:3 (NKJV)

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,

5. Start with something small!

Mark 4:28 (NLT)

The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens.

Faith develops a little at a time!

Start receiving by faith by asking for something small or non life-threatening.

Example – Warts, a cold, the flu, a rash, a bump, a headache.

If you have not trusted God to heal you of a cold, or a headache, you are probably not going to be able to trust God for anything larger. In that case, go get some medical help!

There’s no condemnation in this, no thinking of yourself being better at this than any other person.

Just ask yourself – what can I believe?

Can you believe that with medication this will go away?

Can you believe that with surgery this will be solved?

Can you believe that God will heal without surgery?

Can you believe the problem will be healed by faith and prayer alone?

Can you believe that you can leave your home and be safe from Covid-19?

Can you believe that without a mask on you can stay healthy and free from Corona?

6. How can you tell where your faith is?

You can believe where you have inner confidence.

1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV)

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. (15) And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Where you can smile and be at peace and rest.

Hebrews 4:9-11 (NLT)

So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. (10) For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. (11) So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.

Where you are not nervous and concerned about the outcome.

Matthew 8:23-26 (NLT)

Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. (24) Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. (25) The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

(26) Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

7. Three Things Necessary to Receive by Faith

1) Believe that you have the healing before it physically manifests.

Mark 11:24 – NLT

I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.

Hebrews 11:1 – NLT

Faith is the confidence (Greek word for title deed) that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Romans 4:17 – Amplified

As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.

2) Talk like you believe you receive the healing before any physical manifestation appears.

Faith is released with word!

No words = No faith or neutral faith

Mark 11:23

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Hebrews 11:3

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

2 Corinthians 4:13 – Amplified

Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak,

3) Find a way to ACT like you believe you receive your healing.

Faith must have corresponding actions or it’s dead faith!

James 2:17 – Amplified

So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).
