For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the remnant whom the LORD calls. I believe that we are on the verge of a great move of God as the world races towards future judgments. This great move of God will bring with it a fresh manifestation of Gifts of the Spirit. To be used by the Holy Spirit, we must know what He is doing and how to work with Him. So, beginning tonight and in the following weeks, I am going to be examining the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they manifest. 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 (NKJV) Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. 4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. Revelation Gifts- Gifts that REVEAL something The Word of Wisdom The Word of Knowledge Discerning of Spirits Power Gifts – Gifts that DO something The Gift of Faith The Working of Miracles The Gifts of Healings Utterance Gifts – Gifts that SAY something The Gift of Prophecy The Gift of Different Kinds of Tongues The Interpretation of Tongues All believers can be used in spiritual gifts! These gifts manifest according to what God has called you to do. 1 Corinthians 12:27-30 (NKJV) Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? Ask God for the manifestation of Gifts of the Spirit. Tell Him that you are open and willing to be used by Him. 1 Corinthians 12:31 (NKJV) But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way. g2206. ζηλόω zēloō; from 2205; to have warmth of feeling for or against: — affect, covet (earnestly), (have) desire, (move with) envy, be jealous over, (be) zealous(-ly affect). …to burn with zeal, to be heated or to boil with envy, hatred, anger in a good sense, to be zealous in the pursuit of good to desire earnestly, pursue, to desire one earnestly, to strive after, busy one’s self about him to exert one’s self… 1 Corinthians 14:1 (NKJV) Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. Zechariah 10:1 (NKJV) Ask the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone. The Gifts of the Spirit are as necessary now as they were in the days of the early church! Donald Gee – Fruitful or Barren quotes: There are multitudes who will never be moved and open to the gospel except by the manifestation of supernatural power. They are panting for it in full view of a powerless church. Donald Gee The ultimate and full purpose of spiritual gifts is to bring men face to face with the reality of the invisible God; to make the church realize that the Holy Spirit is ever present, and that all true ministry springs from Him, who is her only source of life and power and to make the unbeliever equally conscious that God cannot be forgotten. Donald Gee The healing of the sick has great power to arouse the indifferent, convict of sin, attract to the gospel, and lead to genuine conversions…The gifts clothe regular meetings with the sense of the reality and presence of God. Kenneth Hagin Prophecy during a Rhema Class in 1980: There are those who will never be reached except through the operation of the gifts of the Spirit, so covet earnestly these manifestations.
